The content of my letter is being sliced by the blades of my letter opener. How do I keep the content from being cut?
Jog your letters by either using a jogger (Model 400 or Model 4200) or tapping them on a hard surface before opening. It is best to tap down the top of the letter and open the bottom of the letter. The bottom is machine sealed and will be more uniform for better opening. Also if there are staples or paperclips they are most likely to be at the top of the letter. Cutting staples and paperclips will chip your blades and reduce cutting efficiency.

What do I do for a folder that is jamming?

Most of the time, folding machines jam because the fold rollers are dirty. Ink, paper dust and environmental contaminates accumulate on the fold rollers causing the paper to slip on the rollers. This can be remedied by cleaning the fold rollers with a Scotch BriteĀ® pad sprayed with rubber roller cleaner (Model 200). Hot water and dishwashing soap can be substituted if rubber roller cleaner is not available. Wipe the rollers with a cotton cloth when finished scrubbing. Avoid using paper towel as it will recontaminate the rollers.

When feeding sets into my folding machine the paper creases of jams, what can I do?
When feeding paper into the manual bypass, insure you insert the paper and allow it to rest against the fold rollers before you turn the machine on. If the machine is running when you insert the paper, you may insert it crooked which will cause a mis-fold.

The paper is folding crooked on my folding machine. How do I stop this?
If paper is not fed into the machine straight it will not fold straight. Insure the feed tray guides are perpendicular to the fold rollers.
